RESEÑA - Flesh and Blood by Kristen Painter

Sacrifice is a choice…

With the ring of sorrows still missing, and the covenant between othernaturals and mortals broken, Chrysabelle and Malkolm’s problems are just beginning. Chrysabelle still owes Malkolm for his help, but fulfilling that debt means returning to Corvinestri, the hidden vampire city neither of them is welcome in.

The discovery that Chrysabelle has a brother could mean reneging on her promise to Malkolm, something that might make him angry enough to loose the beast living inside him. And fulfilling her vow could prove devastating for Chrysabelle — especially when you throw in power hungry witches, dead fringe vampires, and the Kubai Mata.

REVIEW:

This book follows the previous one with a Chrysabelle in mourning for his death mother. And Mal really angry because he thinks she's not going to hold her end of the bargain. And our shapeshifter broken in bits because Fi is gone. and the plot opens itself to follow as many lines as it may be in order to have all this characters and their ways sorted out. So we follow Dominic. And the shape shifter. And Fi. And their stories are so well written, so compelling, that you don't find you are missing out when the story is taken away from its main characters.

Also we get to know a new member of the crew, Creek, who is a hot mortal member of the legendary Kubai Mata throw in to protect Chrysabelle. Obviously there is going to be some tension between them. And Mal, of course.

After reading it, and hating Tatiana even more, and after getting mesmerized again by the world presented by the author, I have to say the same that I have said previously: go for it. Read this book. It truly is amazing. As in seriously.

RESEÑA - Blood Rights by Kristen Painter

Rebellion has a price…

Born into a life of secrets and service, Chrysabelle’s body bears the telltale marks of a comarré — a special race of humans bred to feed vampire nobility. When her patron is murdered, she becomes the prime suspect, which sends her running into the mortal world…and into the arms of Malkolm, an outcast vampire cursed to kill every being from whom he drinks.

Now, Chrysabelle and Malkolm must work together to stop a plot to merge the mortal and supernatural worlds. If they fail, a chaos unlike anything anyone has ever seen will threaten to reign.

REVIEW:

I really don't want to explain a lot of this book because I believe it's maximum power is the fact that it is completly new on its area. I mean, vampires. Check. Shifters. check. Comarré. New. Relation between Comarré and vampire. New. All that comes from it: amazing.

I'm completly amazed by Chyrsabelle. She's this tought super chick (a bit cliché) that finds herself out of her deep when her patron is murdered and she is being accused of it, coupled with the fact that she has to run away and she is a prime suspect. So, she ends up paired with this hot and tortured (another cliché) vampire, who falls for her (cliché, yes, I know) and decides to go with her in exchange of her riding him of the voices on his head (remnants of his killing days).

Apart from all the clichés, the book introduces a new kind of relation between these two characters born from the Comarré thingie. And that's all new. And gosh I loved this world of the Comarrés. Seriously.

And you can also find another "broken" characters, like the shifter that can't shift; or the ghost. Or the mafia vampire. Those are all amazing. All the characters have motivations that move them and makes them very believable.

All the plots that come from the relation of the characters between them are so well done you can actually believe every bit of it. Their motivations, fears, happiness... is all incredible. I really have loved this book so much because of the characters that inhabit on it. And because it may have some clichés, but the way it deals with them turns them kind of unique.

C'mon, read the book! you won't regret it! :)
